The club is committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our members, so that when they participate in club activities, they do so in a relaxed and secure atmosphere.
To do this, we have implemented and promoted procedures to safeguard the well being of both children and adults, in order to protect them from abuse of any kind. In particular, the club has adopted Swim England’s Wavepower safeguarding policy for clubs.
Our aim is to make sure that this policy is known to everyone involved with the club – swimmers, coaches, trustees, club volunteers and parents/guardians alike – and that all individuals within these groups are aware of their responsibility to adopt and abide by our club policies.
If there is a breach of the club’s welfare policies:
The club’s welfare officers will act to investigate any such incident (in line with the recommended policy) and will implement any necessary disciplinary and appeals procedures. Any incidents of alleged poor practice, misconduct or abuse will always be taken seriously and responded to swiftly. Our welfare officers and trustees will ensure that confidentiality is maintained at all times during any investigation into breaches of the club’s welfare policy.
If you want to discuss an issue with either of our welfare officers, please contact them by clicking on the links below. Their contact details are also shown on the ‘Contact Us’ pages of this website.
You can contact Club Welfare Officers Suzy Offord and Ellie Newland via email, only the welfare officers hace access to this email roystonswimclubwelfare@gmail.com
Anyone connected with Royston Swimming Club (swimmers, coaches, trustees, club volunteers and parents/guardians) must familiarise themselves with Wavepower and the Codes of Conduct and agree to adopt and abide by the guidelines and rules that they contain.
